The Il Liris 2020 is our flagship Chardonnay, made to be a true reflection of its Denmark provenance and the terroir from which it comes. A cool-climate Great Southern style, it is a bright pale gold in the glass, with restrained aromas of fresh apricot, peppery honeysuckle blossom, buttered toast and hints of nutty marzipan. An almost even blend of approx. 50% Gingin clone Chardonnay and 50% 95 and 96 clones, the palate is a complex yet elegant combination of green apple, pithy lemon zest and more buttered toast and round marzipan notes. With well-handled oak, mouth-watering acid and a long lingering finish, this wine will age beautifully in the cellar for many years.
